Who Needs Turkey Anyway??
Caleb had a special treat for the night before his first Thanksgiving. At first he HATED it, but towards the end he really started to love it. We are out of town visiting family for Thanksgiving so we had a crowd watching for Caleb's first bite :). He is in no way shape or form the CENTER OF ATTENTION :).
** Just to note before comments come in discussing what age babies should be introduced to rice cereal. Caleb is 1 1/2 weeks shy of 4 months, and I have discussed it with my doctor. He eats almost 8 ounces of milk every 4 hours and has been crying for it every 3. Therefore, it is obvious to us that he is hungry, and needed cereal introduced to him.
Happy Thanksgiving ALL
The First Reaction
He had to drink about 4 ounces of formula before we tried again.
Daddy was the BEST at feeding him
Hey, what is this?
OH YEA!!!
All cleaned up at the end!
Our happy FULL BABY BELLY family

My Little Fake
My little man has discovered a new absolutely adorable talent. The fake cry. He performed this for hubby and I last night, and then tonight he was all about it. I have to admit that it is probably one of the cutest things he has done in his whole three months of life. I can not help but sit and laugh as he puckers his cute little lips, and busts out with fake wimpers. I could just eat him up.
Isn't it adorable? In other news Caleb finally got his 2nd hepatitis shot today! 2 month shots DONE! We had to wait in the doctors office for 2 HOURS for a shot that literally took 2 minutes to give! I about died! I mean you can only keep the nasty doctors office germs off for so long, and 2 hours was pushing it. He only cried for a second and then began smiling as soon as I picked him up! BIG MAN!
I am going to be crazy busy tomorrow. Packing to do during the morning, and I mean LOTS of packing. I practically have to take Caleb's entire closet since we are going to be gone for a week and a half. Then I have work at 5, and then NEW MOON at midnight!! YAY!!

I Tell You I Can Read Minds, and You Think There is Something Wrong With You
"About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was part of him — and I didn’t know how potent that part might be — that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him." Bella, Twilight
"One thing I truly knew—knew it in the pit of my stomach, in the center of my bones, knew it from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, knew it deep in my empty chest—was how love gave someone the power to break you." Bella, New Moon
Any one else excited???? About what you might ask? NEW MOON of course!! I have a secret make believe crush on the character of Edward Cullen. I wish that I was Bella in the movie just so I could live out this make believe world that I have become obsessed with!

What do you think? The Twilight series was an amazing page turner, and I was sad when I had finished all four books. However, this week New Moon is coming out in theatres and I can not wait to see it. My MIL has offered to come and watch Caleb on Thursday night so hubby and I can go to the midnight showing! How awesome is that? I was afraid I would not be able to see it before we left for Florida! Thanks Grandma!! Couting down the days!

LOL
My hubby kept Caleb while I was at work last night, and when I arrived home he told me to watch this video. He was the first to capture Caleb laughing on camera. The video is long. Fast forward to the end, and that is where the really good laughs begin.

All Wrapped Up
Remember this?
The perfect crib that a parent puts together before their little bundle of joy arrives. All equipped with matching blanket, bumper, sheet, bed skirt etc etc etc. Well the "perfect" crib is not so perfect anymore. I mean I knew the day would come when Caleb would pee, throw up, poop etc in the crib, and I would have to remove the sheet/replace with new one etc etc etc. Well last night marked the night when the sheets would become dirty for the first time. We are using Target diapers with Caleb. I like them so far, but the sizing is a little off. The size 1 are to small, but the size 2 are a little to big. You have to position the tabs just right to keep them from leaking, and it is kind of getting annoying. I am thinking of purchasing Pampers again until he grows into the Target diapers. Anyways, back to the story at hand. I laid Caleb down to sleep in his cute 3-6 month monkey pj's. He laid ontop of a thick blanket to protect the sheets. However, when I got him out of bed this morning I discovered that he had leaked through his pj's, blanket, and sheets. Hubby removed the sheets for me while I cleaned Caleb up, and later in the morning I went to replace the bed with new sheets. I knew it would probably be tricky with the bumper and all, but I had no idea how hard!
Attempt #1
Caleb sat playing with his toys, and would smile at me when I told him I was going to scream at his bed.
My look of distress.
Gave up on the blue sheet. Attempt #2
After pulling and tugging and tucking Attempt #2 finally worked.
The finished product. Not the perfect matchy matchy bedding that we started out with. Oh well. It is so funny how we have to have everything so perfect before baby arrives, because things definitely get destroyed or messed up quickly with a little one.
I have a feeling the bumper will be leaving soon. Caleb has a fascination with pushing his face directly up against it, and holding his breath. His movement alarm has caused me the wake up 5 times the last two nights. This saddens me because I feel as though the bumper brings the bedding together. However, I have to keep my little guy safe. Has anyone else had bumper face sleepers? If so, any advice? We use to allow him to sleep close to it, but I have started placing him in the center of the bed. He always scoots back to the edge though. Also, do you know of any cute crafty things that you can do to still incorporate the bumper into their room?

Just for an announcement for myself. Caleb slept WITHOUT his swaddle blanket for the first time last night. He slept the whole night like it was no problem at all. It was about time, because he was getting to large for it. YAY little one.

P90-Whip My Bottom!!
Be prepared for a bunch of rambling!!
As I have said in previous posts, my body is NOT the way it used to be. Hubby and I have been saying for 2 weeks now that we were going to begin P90X. Well, tonight was the night. We took our before pictures (too disgusting to share), took our measurements (I'm soo much bigger than I used to be), starting weight (about the same) and began! The first work out was concentrated on upper body, push ups/pull ups/kick my bottom!! I have no upper body strength so this was a tough one. After an hour of that, you do 16 minutes of abs! FAST HARD ABS! I realized that my abs are shot after having little man! Definitely need improvement! All in all it was an awesome workout though, and hubby and I vowed that we will continue!! Keep me in check all! Caleb hung out in his bouncy watching us. It was cute because he would kick his arms and legs as we moved like he was trying to work out as well.
This weekend was mostly spent watching our new TV obsession, Weeds. Great, hilarious, random show that our friends introduced us to. We have officially watched the first two seasons in 3 days. Yesterday was Sydney girls 1st birthday! Nick took her to play with some bigger dogs and run while Caleb and I attended a baby shower. She then got some new bones for her b-day, and her and Bella continue to fight over the same one. Crazy girls. Today, hubby, Caleb and I ventured to the doctor to get Caleb's roto virus and 2nd Hep. vaccine. The doctors office had told us to call the day we wanted to come in so that they could verify they had the vaccine avaliable that day. I called this morning and they said to bring him on in between 1 and 4. We went at 3 and they DID NOT have the 2nd Hep. vaccine!! UGHHH. Hubby took off work to watch them give him an oral vaccine! I was mad that they did not tell me that vaccine was not avaliable before we came in. So now I have to find another day next week to take him in. Spliting up the shots has actually turned into a hassle!

As of tomorrow it will be 10 days until we leave for South Carolina and Florida!! Oh my how I can not wait!! I am so so so hoping that he beaches will still be warm! I can not wait to stop in SC and see Mealy and Dan! It has been to long, and it is about time Caleb meets them.
Look at my big man holding his own bottle! Please ignore the hideous couch. Our slip cover was in the washing machine!!
Also, has anyone ever had any experience selling Avon or Mary Kay? I was thinking about trying it. Any advice?

I'm Happy When I Make New Friends
Come and play with me......(oh the tummy time mat music) :). Watch my little man!! He is so proud of himself when he makes the music start playing.
Last night I noticed a patch of red on Caleb's chin. I didn't really think anything of it. I just assumed he had rubbed it, or it was a little newborn acne re-appearing. However, this morning he woke up and the patch was bigger and was scaly and dry feeling. I hopped online, and diagnosed him with eczema. The website said to contact the pediatrician, and so we made an appointment to go in and have them evaluate it today. Good news is he does not need any medicine or special ointment. They said to just watch it. It may be eczema and it may not. They said it was probably caused from spit up. The only sad thing they told me was to cut down the number of baths I give him during the week. I knew that you had to watch and not allow baby's skin to dry out during the winter. However, baths are a part of our nightly bedtime routine. She said to only bathe him every other day. Therefore, tonight will be the first night that we try to put him to bed without a bath. We are hoping that lotion, pj's, bottle will do okay for tonight. We shall see. Caleb loves his bath time, and I am sad that it can't be the way he ends his day! However, I do not want his little skin to become to dry.
Just because he was so cute!

3 is the Magic Number
My little man is three months old today. WOW! Time is flying by. I have experienced so much with my little man already, and I am so excited about the time to come. He is growing growing growing before my eyes every day. This month will be an eventful one. It will be his first Thanksgiving, and his first trip out of Kentucky. We are heading to Charleston, SC and to Florida for Thanksgiving, and I am hoping that warm beaches will be there waiting.
- At 3 Months:
- Eating: Eats every 4 hours. You range 6-8 ounces at a time. Your bedtime feeding includes 3 scoops of cereal with your formula, and you gobbles it.
- Sleeping: You are now sleeping in your crib. You generally sleep 10 hours at a time. You slept almost 14 hours the other day. You usually wakes up after 10 hours of sleep, eat, and then falls back asleep for 1-2 more hours. You usually begin the day around 10:30-11 am. Throughout the day you still has random naps. No particular schedule as of yet. You still have to be swaddled every night, and have your binky to fall asleep.
- New found joys: You love your tummy time mat. You are just learning to swat at the hanging toys. You love to look in the mirror at yourself and will coo. you also enjoys holding your rattle and kicking. You loves to cuddle and have your back patted, and bath time is your favorite time of day. Of course you are still obsessed with your mam binky. You love to roll from your belly to your back. As soon as we lay you on your belly you will generally roll right back over.
- Dislikes: You hate morning diaper changes. As soon as you wake up you wants to eat automatically. You hate when we take the bottle out of your mouth to burp you. You will scream!!! I dislike that you spits up and/throw up all the time! I think you may have a little acid refulx :(
- New Developments: Swatting at toys. Holding rattle. Laughing. He has only laughed a few times, but it makes my heart smile! A pro at rolling from belly to back. Discovery that Gripe Water almost always takes away hiccups.
- Size: We are guessing you are 14 lbs. I weighed myself and then weighed you and there was a 14 lb difference. We are unsure as to how long you are as of right now. You are wearing anywhere from 0-3 month to 3-6 month clothes. You wear size 2 diapers!! You were in newborn diapers for so long, but you shot through size 1 diapers. We never had to buy a single pack of size ones!! We have just started you in the Target brand diapers, and so far I love them!!
- Things that make us smile: When you smile/laugh at us. You have finally started to coo and say "i goood". It took you a while to start but it is so adorable. We love how you rolls over from your belly as soon as we lay you down. I love how when I read to you and rock you that you will cuddle and fall asleep in my arms. How calm you are. We can take you every where. We are blessed with such a perfect little man.
Enjoy the pictures with the monkey. I tried to make Thanksgiving props!! You can laugh if you want I am not creative! I dressed him in swimming trunks since we are headed to the beach this month!
