Drug Store Makeup I love

Ladies, I am going to go ahead and admit that I know little to nothing about makeup!! My grandmother (who does not wear makeup or style her hair) was my "mentor", and bless her heart she didn't really know how to teach me.  I have struggled with trying to learn the how to's for years, and all I can say is THANK GOD for YouTube, and blogger tutorials.

I am still not a makeup expert by any means, and I still have A LOT to learn, but I have found a few products that I am happy with!! I always love the products used on the various tutorials, but I do not love their hefty price tags.  Since I am still learning the basics of proper makeup application I have searched the drugstore for products that I now love!

Maybelline Age Rewind foundation and concealer are amazing!! I always apply the foundation with my bare minerals foundation brush.  They provide awesome coverage, and I always receive compliments!

I am also a huge fan of the elf products from Target!! Blush for 3 dollars? Eyeshadow for 4? Yes please!! It actually really works great!

I use elf blush and bare minerals bronzer to add color to my face. I apply both with my bare minerals blush brush, and then blend them with the bare minerals foundation brush.

.

I am still trying to master eyeshadow.  I am not great at it yet, but I do love ELF eyeshadow.  All these colors for 4 dollars?  Seriously?

Cover girl eyeliner and lash blast mascara are my go to's.  However, I am intrigued to try the mascara that Mama Laughlin talked about in her tutorial video.

I finish off my look with ELF lip gloss.

Though my makeup knowledge is still a work in progress, I feel as though these products are great for any mama on a budget!!

Hello again! I have really become such a bloggy slacker as of lately.  My life is HECTIC right now to say the least. Simply Events (event planning business) has really been taking off, and my partner and I are knee deep in preparation for our bridal show this weekend! I have all that work on top of nannying Ethan, and being a mama/wife/domestic goddess :), and honestly I am stretched a little thin! I love it though!! Event planning is my passion, and I am so excited that our business is really taking off!! I am still trying to find the perfect balance for all of it, and unfortunately blogging has been placed on the back burner.  I do hope to change that though!

Life lately has been fun in the midst of all the chaos.  The kids are growing like weeds, and Caleb is less than 2 weeks away from turning THREE!! I may just go ahead and shed a few tears as I type this! I am literally in shock at how fast 3 years has passed! Mckinlee is still wild little Kinlee.  She can climb out of her crib now (a sleep sack fixed that problem), is as sassy as ever, and is a true leader of the pack.

Last week we headed to the zoo with a friend, and her little ones.  I only had my 2 that day, so it was nice to get to enjoy the day with them! Unfortunately it started raining about half way through, but the kids made the most of it.  Caleb was not feeling very well, but Kinlee was ALL about splashing in the rain!

We have had a few play dates at parks around the area!

This past weekend we entered Mckinlee in the county fair pageant!! She got 2nd runner up out of 39, and I was very proud of her.  She was so silly during the pageant and did not smile or interact with the judges at all, but what can I say...the girl is beautiful!! Caleb was bored during the pageant and kept asking Nick when we could leave...hahaha

Life is crazy right now, but I am loving every crazy moment with my little family.  (PS I know that there are way more pictures of Kinlee than Caleb, but he is still in the DON"T TAKE PICTURES OF ME stage). Here is one that I caught... :)

I am going to try to get back to a normal blogging schedule!! Until next time friends!

Jesus Calling

I just began a new Bible study, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, and it is amazing!! I am only on day 3, but I have already learned so much! God has spoken so much to me through the authors words, and has revealed areas in my life where I can grow closer to him.

I don't know about you, but a lot of times when I am doing a Bible study I speed through the day of reading, say a quick prayer, and put it down. I leave feeling "good" that I did it, but not really growing in my faith. Since becoming a mom quiet time with God has taken a back burner, and I know that is not okay. God blessed me with my children, and it is my responsibility to teach them about his love. Part of that is through my example.

With all that being said I took a new turn on how to "study" God's word. During nap time I sat down and began writing the things in the study that stood out to me. I then wrote verses, areas of my life etc that went along with what stood out to me in the first place. It was an amazing way of truly getting the most out of my study. I am also working on upping my prayer life.

I encourage all of you to get this amazing Bible Study. It is available at amazon.com on kindle for 7 dollars!

Florida 2012

We recently returned home from an amazing trip to Florida, and I am sad to say that it is over.  We had a great time laying on the beach, swimming and visiting family.  This kids had a blast.  Mckinlee loved the ocean and was fearless.  Caleb preferred the pool and was a little fish by the time we left.

Things I want to remember from the trip
  • Caleb thought dinosaurs lived in the ocean.  He loved to take his little net with him up and down the beach and search for dinosaur eggs (aka seashells) that would bite him :).
  • Caleb told us their were 2 moons and told us we could not see the other one because it was Way Way Way over there!
  • Caleb said their was an alligator that was blue, had wings and flew that lived in the ocean.
  • Caleb learned to tread water without his swimmies pretty well, and can hold his breath under water.
  • Their was a gorgeous full moon over the beach
  • Mckinlee loved to take the boogie board down to the water and sit on it.  She looked so cute dragging it.
  • Mckinlee ran into the ocean with zero fear!
  • Grandpa's 80th birthday was so much fun.
It was such  a great vacay.

Mckinlee 17 Months

Mckinlee turned 17 months this past week, and we have been on vacay, so I am just now getting around to posting.

Mckinlee at 17 months

Sleeping: You still nap at least 2 hours daily. Generally from 1-3. You actually did decent with your naps while on vacay. we only had a couple of rough days. You go to bed around 8/9 and sleep until 8:30/9.

Eating: you will still basically eat anything!

Size: Size 2 diapers, 0-3 to 12 month clothing. Size 3 shoe.

Teething: you have 7 teeth as of now

Speech: talk talk talk, squeal, scream. If you are awake you are jabbering. Right now your favorite word is daddy.

Exciting New Things:
You visited the Atlantic for the first time.
You met your family in Florida for the first time.
You are a handful but so cute
People can not get enough of you. You were the entertainment of the beach. Every 5 minutes people were telling me how beautiful you are.
You really play with Caleb now!
You love to say Dog!
You love to practice walking backwards. You always smile and walk back slowly.
You loved the beach and had no fear.
You are not a huge fan of the pool. a you prefer walking around it.

You are so cute and sweet, but so wild and strong willed. I love you just the way you are!!
