Thanksgiving 2014

A few days before Thanksgiving the kids had their preschool Thanksgiving performance and potluck.  They both sang and danced, and it was adorable of course! We then enjoyed a meal together.  Nick and Meemaw were able to attend so the kids were thrilled with that.

We then headed out of town once again to Virginia to spend Thanksgiving with Dad and Sherry.  We spent the weekend on a farm, and had so much fun.  Paxton loved Thanksgiving dinner, and did not stop eating! That night us girls went black Friday shopping, and we were gone the entire night.  By the time we arrived home I had been awake for over 24 hours.  Sleep felt amazing!

On Satu

Saturday we went to a town plaza for an Elf on the Shelf hunt.  All the participating businesses hid an elf within their store, and kids could go from store to store and have their paper stamped once they found the elf.  Santa was also there to take photos with.  We all had such a good time.  Papaw also took Caleb shooting for the first time.  My dad has already started Caleb's gun collection so they were testing them out.  Meanwhile I was having a mild heart attack, but Caleb loved it.  Kinlee hid in the truck and covered her ears (my child).

The elf brought the kids elf pajamas one morning

We finished off the weekend playing games, and hanging out.  It was a great first Thanksgiving in Virginia.

Daytona

We finished off our vacation in Daytona visiting family.  Nick's uncle manages a beach property there, and the owners were gracious enough to allow our family to stay for a few days.  It was an amazing house/condo complex with a pool, and beach access.  We had  great time.

We spent lots of time on the beach.  Paxton army crawled all the way from our beach set up to the ocean one day.  It was so cute. Slow and steady, but he was determined to make it to the water.  Once he did he cried because it was cold, but it was so cute.  The men built their usual large sand structure, and the kids had fun playing on it.

Caleb had a blast play 3 dimensional tic tac toe, and he was really really good at it.

We went on walks on the beach, relaxed, and soaked in the last few days of vacation.

It was a great trip.

Magic Kingdom Day 2 and Animal Kingdom

We headed to Ohana at the Polynesian to eat breakfast before heading to the park.  The food was amazing, and was served family style, so there was more than enough.  The characters at this breakfast were Mickey, Donald and Lilo and Stich.  They were very interactive, and fun, and the kids laughed at them a lot.  They also have a parade with the kids, and Mckinlee got to hold Stich's hand during it.  Caleb would not participate but he was laughing at it all.

The second day at Magic Kingdom was a lot less crowded, and less hectic.  We were able to finish everything on our list except for Tom Sawyers Island (it closes at Dusk), and Be Our Guest restaurant.  No space opened up for lunch and I was super bummed.  The cast members told me that you can fast pass this lunch, so on our next trip we will definitely do so.

We did Enchanted Story Time with Belle, so even though we did not get to eat with her, we did get to meet her.  I loved this story time show.  It was interactive, and the kids were cast as different characters to re create the story of Belle and the Beast.  At the end the kids were able to take a picture with Belle.  Caleb did not want to have his photo taken, and Kinlee's came out blurry, but it was a great time.

We also tried DoleWhip that day, and I must admit I was not impressed.  Disney fail for me.  I also lost my iphone while at the park, and did not realize it was missing for over an hour.  Thankfully a Disney Cast member had saved it, and she returned it to us when we turned on the "find my iphone setting".  PTL!

We ate lunch at Pinocchios overlooking Its a Small World.  I remember eating there as a child. We were able to get a seat right beside the windows, and the kids loved watching the people load the boats.  The food was great.  I was never disappointed with any meals quality.

We finished off the night watch Elsa light the castle.  Talk about magical! It was amazing!! I think I even ooed and ahhed!

Our last day was spent at Animal Kingdom.  Though it was a fun day, I do not think I would go there again.  There just isn't a lot to do.

Attractions that are a must do if you go
  • The Safari ride! Amazing!!!
  • Dinosaur (child swap needed due to height requirement)
  • Everest (child swap).  (Dark, and goes backwards) Caleb was NOT a fan!
  • The Lion King Show
  • Snacks-Their fruit was AMAZING!
  • There is also a character meal there with Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy- we did not go to it though.
  • If you have young kids allow them to get the Wilderness Explorers book, and stop at the different stations for them to get stickers.  My kids loved this.
We ended our day on the raft ride (I can not remember the name).  Kinlee was tall enough to ride so she was so excited.  ( there is very littler for small children to ride at this park).  We all got soaked! Caleb did not like that he got wet at all! Kinlee on the other hand was playing in the fountains afterward.  It was a little chilly for that so I got them changed and we headed back to the hotel.

Disney was great! We finished off our trip playing at the arcade at our hotel, and the kids and Nick swam.

Paxton 7/8/9 Months

Geez, I hate that I am so far behind on documenting this sweet boy, and on blogging in general.  It used to be second nature to post daily, but I rarely find the time to sit at an actual computer anymore, and lets face it, the blogger app is awful! Paxton is 3 days short of 10 months, so I figured I better get his previous posts completed. I may eventually get his 10 month one done as well :).

In the past 3 months he has changed so much, and is becoming more and more of a little guy.  He is adorable, sweet, cuddly, loving, funny, and ADORABLE (did I say that already?).  He is perfect.

Eating: You basically eat anything we eat now.  You still get baby food 2 times a day, but you also have table food served with it.  So far the only foods you have not liked are baby food green beans, and bananas. You still nurse 5-7 times a day.

Sleeping:  Oh dear, these past few months you have tested me with sleeping.  Your 7th month was awful!! You went from sleeping 13 hours straight to waking every 45 minutes. I thought I was going to go insane.  Part of it was due to teething, and the second part was due to me giving in and feeding you every time you cried at night. We have made some adjustments, and thankfully you are back on track in terms of sleeping (please don't jinx me for saying that). You are going to bed around 8 and sleeping until 5:00.  I then feed you and you go back to sleep until 8.  You are also napping from 9:30-10:30 and from around 1-3/2-4.

Size:  I took you for your check up today and you weighed 17 lbs (7%), 27 inches (2%).  You are smaller than I thought, but you are filling out! You are wearing mostly 9 month now.  Some 6-9 and some 12 month.  You wear a size 3 diaper still.

Teeth: You have 2 teeth now.  Your 2 front bottom teeth.  Your top right is currently trying to come in.

Speech: You are still not saying any actual words.

Exciting New Things:
  • You moved out of our room into your own nursery now.
  • You clap
  • You wave hi
  • You blow raspberries, and smack your lips
  • You mock squealing sounds we make
  • You watch and action (such as tapping blocks together), and imitate it
  • You army crawl all over the place (started at 7 months)
  • You get up on all fours and rock occasionally
  • You can sit yourself up from laying down
  • You have pulled up a few times
  • You always army crawl into Caleb's room to play with him
  • You always collapse your body if we tickle your ribs
  • You always pull on daddy's bottom lip when he holds you.
  • You went to Disney world, and Florida for the first time
  • You met your great grandparents for the first time
  • You traveled to Virginia for the first time
  • You hate to keep your hat on
  • You put everything in your mouth.  I am constantly having to watch to make sure the kids didn't leave anything little in the floor
  • You are obsessed with the dog bowls, and the bathroom trash cans.  I have to make sure I keep them up.
I love you sweet boy.
