Paxton 4 Months

Paxton at four months:

Eating:  You are nursing every 3-4 hours from one side.  Your last feeding is around 8, and your first morning feeding is around 6:30.  The doctor told me I could go ahead and start you on solids, but I haven't so far.  I may wait a little longer, or I may try it once and see how you do.  It's still up in the air.

Size: You are 13 lbs 12.5 ounces, and 24 1/2 inches.  You are wearing mostly 3-6 and 6 month clothing.  You have also moved up to a size 2 diaper. You have multiple leg rolls, wrist rolls, and the elbow dimples. You are a chunky monkey, and I love it.

Sleeping:  You still sleep great throughout the night. 8:30-6:30.  Generally naps are taken outside of the house, because we are always on the go. The last few days you have been fighting falling asleep in my arms, so we are currently working on you falling asleep on your own for naps.  You always fall asleep on your own for bedtime, and do not get upset, but you hate to lay in your bed during the day.

Exciting New Things:

  • You laugh, and it is precious!
  • You scoot yourself around in a circle when laying on your back.
  • You have started interacting with your toys.  You try so hard to grab them and once you do, they go directly into your mouth.
  • You put everything in your mouth.
  • You are loving your bumbo.
  • You are close to sitting.  You try so hard to pull yourself up to sit, and if we sit you up, you can keep your balance for a few seconds.
  • You still think Caleb is the best person ever.
  • You love to fall asleep with my hand on your face.
  • You love the water. Pools, lake, bath etc.  You laugh and kick your legs while smiling every time!
  • You get excited and move your body towards me when you see me now.
You are the most precious little guy.  I am enjoying spoiling you rotten, cuddling you too much, and kissing you constantly.  You are perfect, and I am blessed that you are mine!

So...He Keeps Growing Up

Caleb has gone from a toddler to a boy this year, but this Summer is ridic.... He learned to swim a few weeks ago, and has been a fish ever since.  He loves jumping in, swimming under water, and he is practicing swimming to the bottom of the pool, and floating.

That in and of itself was enough to make my mommy heart ache, and scream with excitement at the same time.  However, tonight we were playing outside with the neighbor kids.  One of the little boys learned to ride his bike with no training wheels. Caleb immediately pulled out his old bike, watched the neighbor ride for a few minutes, started practicing in the culdesac, and learned how to ride on his own.  He was all over the place!! It started raining, and he continued to practice.  We spent a good hour in the rain watching him ride his bike, and letting Kinlee jump in muddy puddles.

Time....you seriously have to slow down!!!

Pure Michigan

A few weeks ago we traveled to Western Michigan to visit some of my college friends, and their families.  We all rented a beach house together, and spent the weekend on the beach, exploring the town, and just enjoying each others company.  I must say, that I had forgotten how beautiful Lake Michigan is.  It is gorgeous. I think it may be my new favorite place to vacation.  Only a five hour drive, clear water, no sharks, no jelly fish....sounds like a winner to me!!

The kids loved every minute of it, and Caleb actually requested that we move there.  (if only the winters were not so awful).

We celebrated Fathers Day while we were there as well.  The kids got Nick a few small gifts, and made him some crafts. We spent the remainder of the day on the beach, and in the car driving home.

It was a great little getaway!

Last Day of School

The kids last day of preschool this year was the 21st.  It was actually their last day ever at the preschool we have been attending for the past 2 years.  I have loved this school, the faculty, and the joy that it has brought my children.  However, I have found a new preschool for the fall, that will open more doors for our family.  I am sad to say goodbye to their old school, but I am excited for the opportunities the future will hold.

Caleb "graduated" Pre-K this year.  I say "graduated" because he is technically not starting kinder in the fall, and will have another "graduation" next Spring.  I am choosing to hold him back due to his late summer birthday, and a few other reasons.  All in all I feel it is the right choice for him.

Mckinlee completed her final day of the two year old class.  She did not start school until January this year, but she has loved every second of it.

Before we left for school I had them participate in a quick photo shoot.  They were so cute posing together.

I had them each draw me a picture.  I thought it would be a sweet memory one day.  Kinlee never told me what she drew, but Caleb drew cheetah's.

Comparison of first and last day of school.

They both performed in the chapel that morning with their classes.  Mckinlee's class did the hokey pokey, and a bible verse.  She was all into it and performing her little heart out.

Caleb's class did four songs.  He actually sang and danced!!!!!! I was shocked, and so proud.  I had a huge smile on my face the entire time.

He then walked across the stage and "graduated".  (the pics from this are terrible)

After it was all over we went outside to take some pictures.

We then went back in to say goodbye to their sweet teachers.  We have been truly blessed by the teachers the Lord has placed into their lives!

Kinlee's teachers Ms. Debbie and Ms. Barb were so sweet.  Mckinlee LOVED to hug on them, and talk their ears off.  She was always sitting in Ms. Debbie's lap "helping" her teach.

Caleb's teachers Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Krissy.....I can not even begin to describe how amazing they were.  If I could bottle them up, and keep them as his teachers forever I would.  They were always there to cuddle, joke, play, teach, and love on my boy, and they would get their daily Kinlee hug as well.  They taught him in such fun and creative ways, and truly helped him come out of his shell.  I will forever be grateful for them and their amazing hearts!! He was so blessed to have them in his life.

My sweet babies have grown and changed so much this year.  My little man is becoming just that.  He is more of a boy and less of a little guy every day.  He is a super hero lover, an amazing and loyal friend, an awesome big brother, and he has the sweetest most tender heart.  I love him so much I could cry!

My girl...my wild, hilarious, fearless, carefree, march to the beat of her own drum little tiny.  She has a sparkle, a feisty side, and can boss kids around like it is her job.  She may be tiny, but she will stand up the biggest among us with her hand on her hip and her high pitch voice going 100 miles per minute.  She is beautiful, sassy, and keeps me on my toes.  I could not love her more.

Life really is passing by all too quickly.
