HBD2K14

This past weekend we traveled to my hometown for our towns annual festival. As usual we had a ton of fun, and thankfully the weather was pretty nice!

We spent the weekend with my dad and Sherry, heading the tiki bar, visiting friends, enjoying the festival, and going to karaoke. It was a great time.

Saturday was our big festival day. We watched the parade, and took the kids to the carnival. Kinlee is still so tiny, and that  kept her from riding a lot of rides. She was so upset, and it broke my heart. The rides she was able to get on, however, she really enjoyed.

Saturday night we went to karaoke with my dad and Sherry at a country bar. We made a bet between us where we picked each other's songs, and none of us knew what our song would be until we were onstage. I picked "girls just want to have fun", and "oops I did it again" for my dad. Watching him sing and get into them was hilarious. He picked "I'm a little tea pot" for me haha.

Sunday we grilled out and the kids had an Easter egg hunt. Caleb was so funny lining up his egg finds. OCD to the max.

It was a great weekend that ended all too fast.

Easter 2014

We had a wonderful Easter weekend this year. The weather was amazing, we colored eggs, we egg hunted, we had a wonderful church service, and spent time with family. The only thing we lacked was a picture of all five of us together.....per usual.

I really wanted to coordinate the kids outfits this year. I worked off a piece that Paxton had since I don't like spending money on tiny baby clothes. It took forever for me to find items to match, but they ended up pulling together nicely.

The kids were thrilled with their Easter basket surprises. Caleb's ranger sword is in almost all of my Easter pictures. He keeps askinge how the bunny knew he wanted that...since we didn't visit he bunny I don't really have an answer, so I just avoid the question.

The kids had a great egg hunt, and each of them found over 20 dollars! Today after school I took them to target to pick out a toy with their money. Caleb chose a power ranger costume and kinlee picked a doll.

Shot Day

Today was shot day for Mr. P. Vaccines I am all for, but I hate that they have to cause pain to my baby. I forgot how emotional those first shots are for both mama and baby. My sweet boy spent the majority of the appointment before shots looking at me like this...

So innocent, with no idea of what was about to happen. I teared up as he laid on the table smiling at me as the nurse stuck him for the first time. He of course screamed, but only for like five seconds! That helped he and I get past the emotions quickly.

He checked out great at his appointment. He was 11 lbs 10 oz-50%, 22 1/2 inches-25%, and his head cir. was 25%. His ear infection has cleared up as well.

Unfortunately, we had to do some
Shopping after the doctor instead of snuggling. (I totally forgot the kids were out of school on Friday for Good Friday, so today was my only day to Easter basket shop). I still need to find outfits for Caleb and Kinlee for Sunday, so I guess that will be done with kids in tow.

After school we headed to a birthday party for a kid in Caleb's class. The kids had a blast jumping in the bounce house and making cupcakes. We finally got back home around 4:30, and the bigs are taking a much to late in the day nap.....I'm exhausted, Paxton is fussy from shots....I think dinner will be potluck style tonight because this mama is not cooking.

Paxton 2 months

Two whole months...we are not even going to discuss how fast they have gone. What we will discuss is how much I love this little guy, and how I am soaking up every ounce of baby that he has in him. He is currently napping on my chest, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Paxton at two months:

Eating: you are eating every 3-4 hours from one side. Your last feed of the day is generally around 9 pm. You are still feeding one time at night.

Sleeping: you fall asleep around 9:30, and aleep until 4/5 am. I am currently trying to give u an extra feeding to see if u will be able to hold off until 6/7, but you spit up a lot if you overfeed. You stay awake for about 1 1/2 hour intervals throughout the day. Your longest nap is between 1-4. You generally spend this nap on my chest while the bigs have quiet time.

Size: you are 11 lbs 5 ounces, and have clearly grown in length. I will find out your measurements tomorrow. You are wearing 0-3 and 3 month clothing. You are in a size 1 diaper.

Exciting new things:
You smile all the time now
You coo
You rolled over one time from belly to back and I missed it. :(
You always smile at me in the middle of the night before you eat.
You love to watch the fan.
You always smile at Caleb when he talks to you.
You are still calm as ever

You are literally the sweetest thing ever. I love you so much sweet boy.

Spring...Sort of

I do not know about where you live, but our weather has been so unpredictable this spring. It is either freezing, snowy, raining, or warm with tornado like winds.....I'm kind of over it and ready for some consistent warm weather. I am ready for water tables, pools, slip n slides, sprinklers..you get the picture. I'm not really bathing suit ready, but this summer I can use the excuse "I just had a baby", so that works for me.

We are still surviving and getting use to our new normal. The bigs have been on spring break this week, so this is the first week since Paxton's birth that I have had all three, all week solo. We have gone to otter a few times, and stayed indoors trying to re coupe from some sickness that hit our home this last week. I'm still trying to get over the left overs of my cold, and unfortunately Paxton caught it. I hate when your tiny babies get sick. It makes you feel so helpless. I'm praying his clears up sooner rather than later.

It is suppose to be gorgeous this weekend, so I will take advantage of that before the 40 degree weather returns Tuesday.....have I mentioned I'm over it????

In other news Caleb started soccer yesterday, and loved it!!!! I think taking a year off sports was just what he needed. He participated, listened to his coach, didn't whine, wasn't shy!! I was so so proud of him!!

This little one is all about smiling these days!! I melt...
