Big B Little B What Begins With B?

Baby Shower, Best Friends, and a bundle in the belly!

The past few weeks have been so great.  I have had the chance to catch up with my old college friends, and it has been wonderful.  It is so crazy how we can pick right back up where we left off, even if we have not seen each other in a year!  My friend Erin came in a few weekends ago to spend time at our home. It was so great to see her.  This past weekend Caleb and I traveled to Ohio for one of BFF's baby shower.  You can read her blog here.  She is probably the prettiest little pregnant mama I have ever seen.  My old roommate and close friend traveled in as well, and we shared a hotel for the weekend.  It was so great to catch up, share old stories, and hear about new things in each others lives.  Caleb also loved meeting them as well :).

We also had our last "official" mama group class this past Tuesday.  However, we have all planned to keep it going.  It is so great to take a day out of the week to just let the little ones play with each other, and talk to other mamas.  We were missing a few in this pic.

Caleb loves to climb up my back and give lovins.  I secretely love it too!

The most exciting news yesterday, was that little bundle is healthy!! I went for my first OB appointment yesterday.  It was weird being back so soon, but I was full of nerves as well.  There is nothing like hearing that first little heartbeat!! It literally took them what felt like TEN MINUTES to find it.  She kept rubbing the doppler over my belly back and forth, and hubby and I were holding our breath.  Finally I told her to check really low on my left side, because that is where they first found Caleb's heartbeat.  Sure enough, after a little moving around on the left side she found the glorious "Lub Dub's".  It was a very quick strong beat, hoping that means girl. We shall see.  By feeling my stomach she estimated that I am around 10 weeks, however, where I always measured small with Caleb she wanted to schedule an ultrasound just to make sure.  The only stinky thing is that I can not get in for an ultrasound until August 17th! Ughhh.  Oh well, the funny thing is, if I am further along than they think, by that point we may be able to determine the sex haha.  The only bad news was that I definitely have to get the blood sugar thing checked out.  They gave me paper work for the general blood work, and then they have to check my sugar levels as well.  If those are out of whack they will go ahead and test me gestational.  UGHHH.  Pray that it is nothing more than my blood pressure getting to low.  I would hate to develop gestational this soon!! Also, drinking the nasty orange drink is not too appealing right now.

Saturday is Caleb's FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY!!! I can't believe it, but I will be running around like mad getting everything together. I can't wait to share pictures of his BEACH MONKEY BIRTHDAY!

Details Details

First of all I just want to say thank you to all of you who left sweet comments about our new little bundle.  I have to admit that this is definitely an "OOPS" baby.  So much of and oops, that I am still questioning how in the world we actually got pregnant, and I have just come to the conclusion that we are the most fertile couple in the world.  I mean my husband has some Italian Stallions in him is all I can say :).  Anyways, our PLAN was to try to get pregnant with another baby around August of 2011.  Funny how God has other plans.

I have to admit that I did have an "OMG" moment when I first saw the positive sign.  I was home alone with Caleb while Nick was at work, and I basically sat down in the floor of the bathroom, held Caleb and cried.  I called Nick and asked him to come home because I really just needed him there at that point.  I don't want you to think that I hated the fact that I was pregnant, I was just in shock.  I mean my baby was 10 months at the time, I was pregnant this time last year, and I just needed a few days to take it all in.

Now, I must admit I am truly excited and attached and praying for PINK.  You can pray with me if you feel the need.  PINK PINK PINK PINK.  Can you tell I really really really wanna girl?  I still have my "I can't believe it Moments", but I am adjusting more and more every day to the fact that I will have TWO UNDER TWO at the 2011!! I am excited to see the plan God has for our family with this one.  I am excited to love a new little baby again, and I am super excited for Caleb to be a big brother.

Yes, I know it will be HARD.  I am sure there will be days when I need a BREAK, and where I have to step back and pray for God's help. Even though if we could have planned it this little one would not be on the way just yet, I know that we are beyond blessed. We are blessed to be fertile, when I know so many couples struggle. My heart breaks for these couples and I pray for them daily.

In case you are wondering, yes we know what birth control is.  However, our form of bc just did not work.  The last thing I need is lectures or people telling me what I should have done.  This is a little baby that God has BLESSED us with, that I will love beyond words!! We are so excited.

On to the stats. Well, they are a little up in the air.  I am not sure how far a long I am.  I am somewhere between 8-12 weeks.  I remember having a period in April, but we were moving in May, and for the life of me I can not remember if I had one or not.  I go to the doctor Tuesday, and they are suppose to schedule an ultrasound for sometime next week to find out for sure. I am excited to know.  So little bundle is due either in Jan or Feb.  We shall see.  Just remember to think PINK.

I have been a lot more sick to my stomach with this baby.  No up-chucking, just NAUSEA! Ughh.  I have also had a few drops in blood sugar.  Keep that in your prayers.

On another note, I am hoping I am further a long, because I am ALREADY SHOWING!! It took my literally 26-27 weeks with Caleb before I was "obviously prego".  This one...well, I look like I did with Caleb at 20 weeks.  Oh dear.  I am NOT ready to be big again! Hopefully it is just my imagination, but I am pretty sure it is not.  You be the judge.

Okay, you can admit it. I may actually get HUGE with this pregnancy.  Maybe I need to slow down on the baby food I have been craving!

Sea Shells by the Sea Shore

This post is picture overload.  The beach we stayed on was covered in sea shells, and Caleb loved scooping them up.  Notice one common theme of these pics? A certain accessorie?  Yes, the lovely red shovel could NOT leave his hand for a moment! Basically the entire trip he had it in his hand. He would even look for it in his sleep.  haha.  O Well.  I guess it works with the beach theme pics.

Flipper

We are back!! I have to say we had the most amazing trip. It was so relaxing, and it was so great to spend time with Caleb and hubby!! I have so many pics from the trip that I thought I would break them into a couple of posts.  We traveled to Sanibel/Captiva Island this past week, and I have to say it was the most gorgeous place I have been in Florida.  So cute and quaint.  One night we decided to take a Sunset Cruise around Captiva Island, and these are the pictures from that night.

Before we left for the cruise we went to dinner at a place called Cheeburger Cheeburger. It was a cute 1950 style restaraunt, who were known for their cheeseburgers.  After dinner we indulged in a banana split. Caleb LOVED it!

When we first got on the boat, I let little man play around before we set sail.  He loved pulling up on the center seat, and I think he was the center of attention.  I mean can you blame everyone for wanting to stare at the smile?

About 5 minutes intot the cruise we saw dolphins.  There was a mama and a baby, and they started playing in the wake of our boat.  They would jump up and flip, and then swim around and do it again.  It was so neat to see them do that in their natural habitat.  Caleb liked watching them as well.

The sunset was beautiful.  Little man did not make it to see it, but he was so peaceful sleeping on daddy's chest! It was such a great day!

Fireworks and Foreshadowing

This past weekend we traveled to my dads house for his annual 4th of July bash.  It was a great time filled with yummy food, family, fireworks and drinks.  Caleb had so much fun spending time with his Papaw, and loved being on the farm.

Remember way back when I showed this picture.

This was of mine and Nick's first Halloween as a married couple.  One month later we found out we were expecting Caleb.  I thought it was foreshadowing.  Well, there is something else about this picture that is foreshadowing.  Can you guess what it is?

1+1=1 Month away from a YEAR

My sweet baby turned 11 months yesterday!! It is so hard for me to even come close to realizing that he will be ONE YEAR in ONE fast month.  His first year has flown by, and now I find myself planning his first birthday!! It is crazy!! He seems more and more like my little toddler every day!! Time has gone way too fast!!

Caleb at 11 Months:

Sleeping: You are back to your normal sleeping habits.  Not to much protest going on when we lay you in your crib.  Sometimes you will still stand and cry for about 10 minutes or so, but you always calm yourself down and go to sleep.  You generally take 2, 2 hour naps a day.  The times vary depending on what we are doing that day.  You usually go to bed around 9:30 and sleep till 8 am.  You still like your  Scout dog to play lullaby's when you are falling asleep.

Eating: You are still eating three solid meals a day, with bottles and snacks in between.  I am going to try to switch you cold turkey at one year to a sippy and whole milk.  We will see how that goes :).

Size: You are wearing mostly 12,18, and 24 month clothes.  You seem to have grown a lot in length this past month.  I do not know for sure how much you weigh or how long you are.  You are still wearing a size 4 diaper, and a size 3 shoe.

Exciting New Things:
  • You are crawling EVERYWHERE.  You are all over the place, and you pull up and cruise on everything.  If I am going into another room, I say "Come on Caleb", and you crawl behind me.  So cute.
  • My favorite is when you crawl in my lap and give me a kiss.
  • You are still climbing up my legs and sticking your head between my knees.
  • You are pushing toys and walking behind them.
  • You love drawers, and you try to get into all of them.  One day you slammed your hand in a drawer and did not even cry.
  • You love love love dogs now.  Bella is your favorite.  You pet her, chase her, and give her kisses daily. You always laugh so hard when she kisses you.
  • Every time you see a dog your go "ARRR".  Maybe barking?
  • Your love for Eebee baby has grown more this month.  Everytime I turn it on you pause and go "ahhhh".  You love it.
  • You are heading to the beach again.  3 time in your first year.
  • You love to play fetch/chase.  haha.  We will throw a toy and tell you to go get it.  We will then crawl behind you saying we are going to get it, and you cackle. So cute.
  • You are everywhere in your walker!
Baby boy I love you more than words.  I wish I could keep you my baby forever, but I am so excited to see the little boy you are going to be.  Photobucket
