Letter to Me

I saw this idea on Katie's blog, and I thought it looked like fun.  I am not really sure where this post is going to go, so it will be interesting to see.

Sarah at 15:  High school may seem crazy, but trust me by the end of it you will have great memories to look back on.  Hold your friends tight.  They really do care about you, and oh that boy you are so crazy about, he is not worth crying over.  Trust me, he ends up being a guy that would have been sooo wrong for you!

Sarah at 17:  You are about to meet some of the best friends of your life, and they will forever change your heart.  You will have some amazing weekends, and memories, and you will forever be close to these people.  They will be the best "GROUP" you will ever be apart of! Stay true to who you are.  You are NOT what one jealous girl in particular says you are, and that girl and her remarks will soon be a distant memory.  Hold your friends.  You will experience heartbreak, but trust me it will all work out in the end.

Sarah at 18:  You are about to go to college.  You will feel sad to leave your highschool friends, but trust me you will have some great memories at college.  You will learn a ton about who you are, who your true friends are, and what characteristics of your personality you need to improve.  Try not to waste so much money though!

Sarah at 19:  You will have an amazing summer like no other!! You will meet amazing people and be closer to God than ever before.  Live it up! It will truly be one of the best summers of your life.

Sarah at 20:  You are getting ready to switch colleges, and the summer  will bring a lot of heartbreak.  You will fall away from a very good friend, don't worry though the friendship will be restored in a few years.  You will finally realize that you can not FIX everything, and that you have to just let things go. Try to stay true to who you are this year.

You will meet the man you are going to marry this year.  You will not know it at the time.  You will just be pulled in by the blue eyes, and shaggy curls.  You may think he is not your type at first, but trust me he will be a wonderful husband.

You will also fall in love with a little Yorktese this year, and you might just name her Bella Gardella!!

Sarah at 21:  You will get engaged this year! Wow, crazy! You never thought you would get serious so young.  You all will have a very happy marriage though! You will let your tongue get away with you this year, and mess up a friendship.  Try not to do that!

Sarah at 22: You are now a Gardella....and 4 months later you find out that the Gardella's are very fertile!! You have a baby on the way!! AHH! Life will throw you some struggles. Your cousin will be in a really bad accident, and you will not know if he will make it.  Have faith in God, pray hard, and trust that all will be okay.  Hold to his comfort. Hold on it only gets better, and all the struggles turn out okay.

Sarah at 23:  This year will forever change your life.  Love is born, and you are the happiest you have ever been.  Love that baby so strong.  Take in every moment! You are beyond blessed.

Sarah at 24:  Life is great. You have your wonderful little man to fill every day, and a very loving husband.  You are beyond happy.  Life may just throw in a couple of surprises this year...I guess we will just have to wait and see.

A Party A Wedding and A Friend

This weekend was spent with family and friends back in our old college town.  Saturday morning we traveled to my cousin Matt's b-day party, and had fun spending time with family.
Caleb and Papaw White.  I think they look a little alike in this picture

After the party we went to a wedding of two of our college friends. It was so much fun but I got very few pictures.  The wedding was beautiful, and I loved the venue and the brides dress!

We were a sweaty MESS, but we had a great time!

passed out during the reception

Today was spent visiting some friends.  We were able to visit with one of my old regulars from my job during college.  I just love him to pieces!! We also had to say good bye to one of my life long friends and her little man Ashton.  They are moving next week for a year, and will be about 7 hours away :(.  Hopefully, it is just temporary though.

Hubby's First Blog Post

I saw this idea on Katie's blog a while ago, and I thought it was so sweet. I asked hubby to type his memory of the day Caleb was born for Father's Day. I think it will be so sweet to have.  So here is Nick's very first blog post.....His memory of Caleb's birthday!

It was the happiest day of my life and it started when we woke up to go the hospital on August 4, 2009.  Sarah and I walked into the hospital at 6 am full of excitment and expectations.  As we took the elevator up we couldn't stop smiling knowing that the next time we would be in this elevator we would have our baby boy with us.  We were led to the room where we would bring Caleb into the world.  The two us were then left alone waiting for the nurses to come in and give Sarah the medicine to start the induction process.  As the process continued our excitement grew more and more, especially as more family showed up to enjoy in our happiness.  As the day continued Sarah and I continued to talk and wait as we got closer to time that caleb would show up.  We passed the time during the day any way that we could, anything from playing cards to watching movies.  The entire time we waited Sarah continued to progress and her contractions continued to get worst.  That pain didn't last long cause if you know Sarah at all you know she does not do well with pain and she decided to get an epidural.  From that point forward Sarah was in state of happiness that I didn't think came with labor.  There was no screaming and I had no broken bones from her squeezing my hands.  Every once in a while the nurse would come in and check Sarah and she would tell us how close we were.  Finally, the news came that it was time for our new boy to arrive and I couldn't wait to hold him and take him home.  When the nurse came in she told us that he wouldn't take more than 15 minutes to be born, but little did we know he was going to stubborn just like his father.  So instead of 15 minutes of pushing it became 2 hours of breathing and pushing and more breathing and pushing.  Then everything seemed to happen so quickly, his head popped out and then his body was out.  All of a sudden the scissors were in my hands to cut the umbilical cord, he was picked up and put on his mothers chest and I realized that our family was complete.  Then he was handed to me and this rush of happiness and enjoyment rushed over me like never before.  That night was the first time that caleb fell asleep on my chest and finally understood what my parents hed told me about the love you have for your child.  Then we began the steps towards taking him home even though those steps would take 2 days.  We watched the first bath, his first pictures, blood test, and watching him get taken out of the room for his circumcision which kinda scared us cause that was the first time we weren't in the same room as him.  Then our moment came when we were told we could take him home.  So we put his going home outfit on, put him in his car seat got our last check and we started towards the front door and home.  This was the moment we had been waiting for to go home with our baby.  If you have ever seen the movie knocked up thats how I was driving home.  That whole experience was the most amazing thing that I have ever seen and I will never forget it.
