Picture Overload

We took so many pictures yesterday that I love.  This post is going to be filled with photos so I apologize in advance.

An Extraordinary Day....that didn't go as planned

Today was a GORGEOUS day.  A day that made you want to get out of bed, run outside, and take in the happiness of Spring.  It was a day that brought smiles even when things did not go as planned, and that made you long for the warm perfect days of Summer.

This morning we woke up in time to attend the second service of church.  We had not mastered this since Mckinlee arrived, and I was so excited that we made it out the door in time.  Once we arrived at church we dropped Caleb off in the nursery and headed to service.  Once the sermon began his number popped up on the screen, and when I arrived in the nursery he was really upset, so I just brought him in the service with us.  He was being very good, but then little miss started fussing because she was fighting her sleep. I stepped out, and apparently when I did Caleb broke down again.  Needless to say, we packed up our stuff, and decided to just go home.  At least we tried.  However, I did not let this get us down because it was BEAUTIFUL outside.

We decided to go home for lunch, and let the babies nap, and then we had a fun day planned.  After naps we planned to go see the Easter bunny, and then head to our favorite park for pictures and playtime.  We left our house once Caleb woke up from nap, and we headed to the mall.  We took both babies inside, only to discover that the bunny was on break for another 40 minutes.  We decided to just try again another day.  Well that was the second thing in our day that did not go as planned, but it was fine.

We headed to our favorite park which is about a 20 minute drive from our house, got the babies out of the car, and then I started to take pictures.  It was then that I discovered that I left my sim card at the house!!! I was so upset.  We decided to go back and get it, but just to go to another park.  Third thing that did not go as planned.

We got to the house, I ran in and grabbed the card, and we headed to the park close to my home.  Once we arrived there we noticed that the medieval fighters were back, and there was not a single parking spot.  UGHHH. Fourth thing that did not go as planned. At this point Caleb was screaming because he wanted out of the car, and Mckinlee was screaming because she was hungry. I climbed in the back and fed her a bottle of breast milk, and we decided to just travel once again to the original park.

So all in all things today did not go quite as planned, but it was a beautiful day regardless, and I had so much fun with my little family.  We even got some great pictures after all.  I hope your day was just as beautiful. 

You Are My Best Friend

Mckinlee 2 Months

Let me just begin by stating that the first week of each month is hard on this mama. I literally have one day in between my babies growing another month older each month, and that is hard on the heart.  Lil miss bundle turned 2 months on April 6.  A whole two months.  Given she is still an itty bitty, and she is still as tiny as a newborn, but she is growing up way to fast :(.  I am trying to take in my lil baby as much as possible.  It is so bittersweet the second time around.  You realize how each moment is so fleeting, and it is a moment in time you will never have back.  I find myself gazing from her to Caleb daily and shaking my head in awe.  It seems like only yesterday I was holding him at 2 months :(. 

Bundle at 2 months you are:

Eating:  You are eating about every 2 1/2 to 3 hours.  You start your day at 6:30 and take one side, and then around 9 you take the other side.  Throughout the rest of the day you eat from both sides. Around 7-9 you are crazy hungry and you will eat from me from both sides before bath, and then after bath you will take a 4 1/2 ounce bottle of breast milk before bed.  You are no longer eating in the middle of the night!! woo hoo. 

Sleeping:  You are a GREAT sleeper.  I think you are in the middle of a huge growth spurt right now because you will seriously sleep all day. I sometimes have to wake you to feed you right now.  You try to fight your naps at times, but if I lay you on your belly, give you your binky, and turn on Scout you will generally drift off without much fussiness.  You are now sleeping in your crib. The first night was a little rough, but now you seem to really enjoy it.  I have even gotten you to sleep on your back one night in it.  You still hate to be swaddled so I use a sleep sack on you at night, and you seem to enjoy it.  You are sleeping from 10-6:30 each night. You will sometimes fuss a little around 3 still, but if I give you your binky and pat your back you stop and fall back to sleep. 

Size:  2 weeks ago at your doctor appt you weighed 8 14.  We go this week for your 2 month check up and shots so we will get the stats then. You are still able to fit into your newborn clothes, but we are basically wearing them all for the last times. 0-3 month are starting to fit you well, and you can finally keep socks on your feet.  You are wearing a size 1 diaper. 

Exciting New Things:

• You love to smile.  Anytime you are awake you will smile at anyone and everyone who will talk to you.  So sweet.
• You are cooing now, and it melts my heart.
• You have such great head strength and control.  You will sit and just look around and hold your head up so well.
• You actually love tummy time, and I think it is because you like to sleep on your tummy.
• You will sit in your swing now without fussing.
• You have slowed down on the pooping and I am thankful for that.
• You always squeeze my side when I nurse you.
• You really notice what is going on around you now.
• You will let others hold you without fussing as much now. 
• You love to be carried around in my ring sling or moby. You will sleep the entire time you are in them.
• You are a great shopper.
• Your eyelashes have really started to grow. They are long like Caleb's.
• The curl in your hair really comes out after bath. It is as curly as grammys.  I do not know how I feel about the fact that you will probably have curly curly hair. Oh well, you will rock it.
• You still have the longest toes ever.
• Your cry is so short and cute. You only cry hard when you are hungry.
• You are particular about what you like, but you are such a good baby. 

I love you so much my sweet princess.  You have changed my world for the better, and I fall more and more in love with you every day. 

Caleb 20 Months

I have to admit that I have had a harder time with this whole 20 month thing.  I mean it seems so old.  20 whole months?? That is way to close to two for my comfort.  I mean seriously where did my itty bitty go, and why does he have to grow up so fast?  :(

I told you to say cheese and this is the face you made....hilarious 

Caleb at 20 months:

Eating:  You eat three meals and generally 2-3 snacks a day.  You have milk in the morning and at night, and usually juice mixed with water one time a day.  You love to open the fridge and point to the juice and say "juice".  You are getting more and more picky every day :(.

Sleeping: 9:30-9/10 am.  You are still in the pack n play because I have not tried to transition you back to your big boy bed yet.  Napping one time a day around 2-21/2 hours.  You generally go down around 12:30 or 1. 

Size: You are 27 lbs and 32".  You wear 18-24 month clothes, and you can still wear a size 4/5 shoe.  I bought you a pair of size 5 sandals and they do not fit because your foot is to wide.  It is a short chubby foot :).  You are wearing a size 4 diaper. 

Speech:  You are adding words to your vocabulary daily, but you are still not what I would call a "talker".  You will say a word when you feel like it, but you still mostly communicate with gestures and "uhhs".  You have learned to sign please and thank you this month.  You also sign more, all done, hurt, eat, your made up sign for binky and diaper change.

9/10 times this is what happens when I take the binky from you...



Exciting New Things:

• You love to walk backwards and in circles now
• You throw the ball and clap for yourself all the time.
• You yell da anytime the phone rings and you yell da and run to the door anytime Bella barks.
• You love to have tummy time with Mckinlee and claim all of her new toys as your own.
• You love to draw with your new etch a sketch I got you. 
• You clean up after yourself all the time now. I love this. You will finish an activity and 8 out of 10 times you will pick it up and put it back where you got it.
• You love love love to play outside, and you can run through the back yard now :(.  When did you grow up?
• Swinging and people watching are your favorite things to do at the park.
• You hold my nipple shield to your boob when I breastfeed Mckinlee.
• You pointed to a picture of a girls boob in a magazine and said "boob".  "Where is the boob" is now yours and daddys game to play.  Lovely....
• You love to find your belly button.
• You love the sit on the toilet and flip through magazines
• Cartoons in the morning are still your favorite.
• You grab the DVD remote when you want to watch your movie and hand it to me.
•  You wave bye bye when cars pass the window and when you are going nite nite
• You are really good at walking and holding my hand when we are out in public.
• You moved up to the toddler classroom in the church nursery.  You fussed for a minute, but you had so much fun. You got to hear a story about Jesus, color a picture of Jesus and have a snack.
• You are now going to library story time and you seemed to really enjoy it.
• You love to play with magnets.
• In the bath you like to pretend like you are putting the body wash on your hands, rub them together and then clean yourself.
• When I take a bath with you, you always point for me to lay back and then you cuddle with me :).
• You are still such a great big brother. You always run to Mckinlee and kiss her when she cries, and you are great at putting the binky back in her mouth without hurting her. 
• You have a spray bottle that you follow me around the house with when I am cleaning. I will give you a paper towel and you will pretend to spray and wipe the table, floor, wall, toys etc etc.  You also like to sweep behind me with your broom, and help me "fold" laundry.  It takes me a little longer to get my chores done but I would not have it any other way. 
• You have learned how to take your shoes off and also how to buckle them.

You are growing up way to fast sweet boy. I love you to pieces and I always will.
