Bundle Babysitting Boogers Boobs and Birthdays

Warning: Extremely random post with no real connection

Bundle Update:  Geesh I feel like such a slacker when it comes to keeping this blog updated about my sweet little bundle girl.  Her big bro is just keeping me so busy, that I seriously forget I am pregnant all of the time.  However, lil miss is reminding me she is there now.  She is moving all over the place.  In fact, dada felt her do a flip flop across my stomach the other day. It was the first time he had really felt her, and I think she was just showing off for him.  It made us both smile.  I have to admit it is great feeling those little kicks again.  They are so different than the "phantom kicks" I experienced after Caleb.  I love how she will just randomly poke me and remind me that she is growing safe.  I love her so much already.
I am also being reminded that I am once again prego by the weight that is currently piling onto my mid section.  Did I mention I gained 6 POUNDS in ONE MONTH!!!! Ahhh.  My doctor was excited and told me I was finally gaining weight, and when she told me how much I about died.  She laughed and assured me that this is normal, and that my weight gain with Caleb's pregnancy was not normal.  However, I hope that the racking on of pounds comes off just as easily.  This little girl is bound and determined to make her mama grow a belly.  Given I have only gained 7 lbs so far, but still hopefully it slows down a bit.
We are now 20 weeks/2 days shy of 21 weeks.  Half way there.  I had a moment the other day when I realized that Caleb turned 14 months and that he will be 18 months when bundle arrives. OMG that is 4 months away! It seems like forever when you think of Feb. but when you put it into your baby age terms it seems so soon.  I still have my moments of shock thinking about having 2 under 2, but at the same time I can't wait to hold sweet girl and enjoy the newborn snuggles once again.

First time hubby felt Mckinlee move.  We have the same picture with Caleb.
20 week belly.  Ignore my unmade bed.

Babysitting:  The first nanny position that I was in the running for did not work out :(.  I have to admit I was really bummed. I have an interview today for another position at 6.  It seems almost perfect except for wages. I hate talking money, but that is the point of working.  Hopefully we can agree on a price, and I will have a new job.  I'll keep you posted.

Boogers: Ughh.  If I never see another snotty, scaly, runny nose again it will be to soon.  Poor Caleb has had a runny nose for over 2 weeks now.  The first was related to his second top tooth popping through, but now I think it is more seasonal.  His nose is running, and he is coughing because he is so congested. I am talking coughing that is keeping him up at night.  Last night was interesting. He woke up around 2:30 so congested and coughy that he was miserable. We cuddled in the rocking chair for a while. I held him down while he screamed and salined and sucked out his nose.  However, he still was miserable.  We ended up getting into the bathtub together at 3 am in hopes that the warm water would help his breathe easier.  My little man just cuddled on my chest in the tub like he used to as a little baby and cried.  He was so miserable and it made me feel so bad for him.  He is feeling better today, still congested, still coughing, still fighting me when I try to clean his nose.  However, I am hoping that it is nothing serious. I am going to watch it for a couple of more days before I rush him into the doctor.

Boobs:  So my boobs are already leaking colostrum.  They have been for about 3 weeks? Oh wait you don't remember that I have boobs that begin producing way early in pregnancy? Yep, they are the same boobs that leaked for 20 plus weeks before Caleb and then only worked for 3 weeks after he was born. They pretty much suck.  However, they started even earlier this time around.  I have to admit that the skin to skin in the bath last night accompanied by a crying baby had my boobs leaking like a fountain.  I swear I could have filled 5 ml in a bottle.  If pumping didn't start contractions I would pump it and put the colostrum in Caleb's milk to help keep him healthy this flu season.  Hopefully this time around the boobs will work after bundle girl arrives.

Birthdays:  Today is hubby's 25th birthday.  We are headed to UK tomorrow to tailgate and celebrate. Happy birthday babe!!

To keep with the randomness of this post I will leave you with pics of my yucky feeling boy.  Even though these pics of him at the park will make you think otherwise.

Do Your Ears Hang Low?

So first of all I have to mention that I really do not like nor do I understand the saying "having your ears lowered".  I always hated when people used to say that to me.  However, this past weekend we did just that to Caleb.  It all began on Saturday when we traveled to a first birthday party...

I dressed Caleb that day in a pair of jeans, a white shirt with a blue motorcycle on it, blue shoes, and he had a blue binky.  Very boyish attire if you ask me.  Anyway, once we arrived at the party I can say that seriously about 15-20 people told me how beautiful "she" was.  We were sitting in the living room and all the older people there were talking to each other about how "she" was the most beautiful little "girl" they had ever seen.  How they loved "her" eyes and eyelashes, and how "her" hair was soo beautiful.  They then referred to "her" as a porcelain doll.  Now, I know that people saying your child looks like a doll is suppose to be a compliment, however, they were talking about a "she", and my little man totally has a tee tee in his pants.  They then proceeded to ask me "her" name and when I said Caleb, they said "Oh that is different for a girl".  I was in such shock that I could not even correct them. I mean I know my child is BEAUTIFUL, but he is a boy! He has a tee tee not a cho cha!!
I have to admit that I had a small mental meltdown.  Given I had been up till 5 am at the white trash bash, and Caleb had woke up at 5:30 am, and therefore I had very very little sleep.  However, I gave in to the fact that it was time to cut my little mans locks for the very first time. It was time to cut my precious baby hair that will never be there again :(.  I had big plans to take him to a Kiddy hair salon for his first cut and have him sit in a cool car chair.  However, that salon was already closed, and would not be open again until Tuesday.  I simply could not wait, because I swore that day that if one more person called him a girl I would go off. I mean don't they realize that once little bundle arrives she will be all "GIRLY" fantastic all the time. I can assure you she will not have a motorcycle shirt on with blue jeans!! Grr.  Do they not realize that if Caleb was a girl he would have a huge bow in his hair with a fully accessorized outfit to match. I mean gosh.

Anway, Hubby and I found a salon that was avaliable and took Caleb for his very first hair cut. He hated the robe they slip over you, but other than he did pretty great. He was not a fan of her trying to clip his bangs so he got his very first taste of a lollypop. All the while I am telling Daddy the importance of holding onto the lollypops stick because it is a huge choking hazard. However, it did keep him still until she finished. My little man is so cute, shorter hair and all.

This was his before hair
After. Not a huge change, but it is tamed. I believe he looks all boy now!

14 Months

Caleb turned 14 whole months yesterday!! Wow!! Each month literally knocks me off of my feet when I think about how fast time in flying.  I mean I thought that the one year point was rough, but each month after that is just tearing me up inside.  My baby is growing up WAY TO FAST!! However, as I say each month this is my new favorite age (tantrums and all).

Caleb what you are up to at 14 months:

Sleeping: You are still sleeping through the night, and you are a great sleeper.  I really love you so much for this. You have started a new trick that is so adorable that it just makes me want to eat you up.  At night time after your milk and bath I ask you if you are ready to go night night. You always look at me and dada and start down the hall to your room.  If the door is closed you will knock on it, and once you are in you will go to your crib and reach your arms up.  You immediately lay your head down while I cover you up and say your prayers.  Sooo adorable! I know that this is a true blessing.  You are still taking 1-2 naps a day.  A lot of times just one 2 hour one.

Eating:  You still love to eat.  You eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, and you have 2-3 snack times in between.  You have a sippy of milk when you first wake up, and right before you go to bed.  You are still acting like a vegetarian.  You will eat pork though (bacon, sausage, peperoni).  You have sippy's of water through out the day, and a little juice diluted with water if you are constipated. You love love love crackers, and anything you can feed yourself.
Size: You are wearing 12-18-24 month clothing.  Your 12 month jeans are to short, but your 18 month are to long, so we are at an awkward stage.  You are wearing a size 4 shoe.  Not sure about your height and weight this month. You are looking longer and leaner though.

Exciting New Things:
You are such a FLIRT! Anytime you see a girl you give her this "look", and slowly move closer. As seen in the above picture.
You are now obsessed with Dada. You say his name all day.  You point out the window and say "dada" you knock on the front door and say "dada", and you point at his pictures.  If dada leaves it breaks your heart, and you scream! It is breaking dada's heart as well.  You love to play with dada and squeal with delight when he comes home.
You still come to me if you are hurt or tired.
You love to play by yourself at parks now. Instead of me placing you on different things at the park I now follow you and watch you play.
You play with other kids at the park.
You are walking everywhere, and you are becoming so independent.
You do not like to be held or confined and you will throw a tantrum if we try to keep you in one place.
You hate shopping
You can point to your head
You sign "more" and "all done" when you feel like it.
You wave all the time now
You can say "Tony" you always say "ney"
You still love Bella!
You try to pick up really heavy stuff and carry it.
You like construction tools.  The hair dryer still terrifies you, but you will sit and watch dada do construction with loud tools any day.
You love to play outside.
You love to throw the ball to Sydney.
You love to brush your teeth, and you want to do it all by yourself.  After your bath you point to the medicine cabinet and squeal for me to get your toothbrush out.
Opening and shutting cabinets is the new cool thing, and you love magnets
You still bark at everything, but we have not got you to make another animal sound yet.
You hold up one finger if we ask you how old you are.
Still not a huge talker, but we are working on that.
You love to talk on the phone.
You had your first hair cut
You now have 4 teeth
You have discovered your tee tee.  It is your new favorite toy in the bath.  Such a man already!

I love you so much my little 14-month-old boy!! More than you will ever know.

White Trash Burfday Bash!!

Hubby's 25th birthday is this coming Friday, and so in honor of him and a friend from work I had a White Trash Burfday Bash!! I am a huge fan of themed parties, and I knew that I wanted to throw a big one for hubby this year. I mean what is better than a white trash bash? haha. I was a trooper. I stayed awake until 5 am with everyone, and then Caleb woke up at 5:30. I was exhausted yesterday, but it was oh so worth it!! Enjoy the pictures.
