Mighty Monday

Hello all. I have neglected my blog over this holiday weekend, and I thought that it might be fun to use mighty monday as a way to tell you what might have happened in the Gardella family this past weekend.
  • I might have not watched a true fire work display this weekend due to the awful rain.
  • I might have spent 4th of July at a friends cookout, and played a new card game (well to me anyway) called 7 up.
  • I might have attended a festival that was not entertaining at all :)
  • I might have slept in yesterday with my hubby, and then spent the day with our friend from New Jersey before he flew home.
  • I might have had a doctors appointment at 10:20 this morning.
  • I might have taken my husband with me because they had told me they were going to check if I had thinned out at this visit, and I did not want to be alone.
  • I might have been a little upset when they told me that next week is when they will perform the procedure, and therefore, I felt bad that I had my hubby go into work late to attend the appointment with me.
  • I might have gained 3 pounds. However, I might just be measuring 31 centimeters once again.
  • I might be wondering how my belly has been 31 centimeters for a month now even though I have gained 7 pounds???
  • I might have asked the doctor about this, and he might not have given me a true answer. I might not think he has an answer for me.
  • I might be getting another ultrasound in a couple of weeks, but right now the doctor might have just assured me that he believes everything is fine.
  • I might have thought I saw a sign of labor approaching last night, but I might be unsure...???
  • I might be lying next to two sleeping dogs, and loving the silence.
  • I might be a little upset about a banking issue right now, and hoping that we can get everything fixed.
  • I might be praying really hard that my hubby gets on the fire department (we may find out if he is moved onto the next level today or tomorrow).
  • I might be feeling a little inadequate because I can not work, and contribute to finances. I hate feeling like I can do nothing to help pay the bills.
  • I might be wondering if Caleb is going to make his appearance in the next 2 weeks due to the previously mentioned pregnancy/labor sign that I think might have occured yesterday.
  • I might be jealous that my little sisters are going to Aruba Wednesday, and I am stuck in Kentucky.
  • This might sound like a little bit of a complaining post, and I did not mean for it to sound that way :).
  • I might decide to go lay in the pool today, since it is the first warm day in over a week.
  • I might be cooking my hubby a big dinner tonight, and give him a long massage for working so hard.
  • I might be including a picture of my 34 week/ 1 day shy of 35 week belly.
  • I might think my belly button looks disgusting, and be questioning why I am including that picture in my post.

This Past Weekend (Last Year)

I was just thinking about what my life was like this time last year. I was a few weeks away from my wedding, planning a honeymoon, living in Lexington, and never dreaming that I would be basically 5 weeks away from being a mommy this time this year. However, the weekend of June 26-28th last year Amelia, Mel and I traveled to Chicago for my first bachlorette party. We stayed at the W hotel across from Navy Pier, and had an amazing time. A few weeks later girls from Merrick threw me a bachlorette party in Lexington. It is so crazy how much your life can change in one year. It is also amazing to me that Nick and I are coming close to our one year anniversary, and that we could possibly have a baby by then if little Caleb decided to come two weeks early. Crazy. Anyway, I was just remembering last summer, and I wanted to include some pictures from my bachlorette days in Chicago. Such a fun weekend.

Just in Case

First of all I want to say thank you to Lea Liz for helping me with my blogging dilema. It was definitely a lot easier to do than I thought at first. In other news Nick and I had our first birthing class on Wednesday night. The first class was basically an overview of a bunch of words that you will hear during labor, and their definition. I actually knew all of them just from watching Deliver Me and Birth Day on Discovery Health Channel. However, I was very surprised by the questions a lot of the other mothers were asking. Apparantely I am the only one who watches those shows :). The next class is when we will start practice breathing, and the hubby's will learn how to massage different pressure points during labor. YAY for massages. I am so mad at myself because I was determined to document this night with pictures, but NO momma Sarah completely forgot :(. So, we have no pictures from our very first birthing class. I am excited because the class includes a breastfeeding class, and infant care class. Working in a preschool helped me to learn a lot about infant care. However, it will be very good to learn some new things, and interact with my hubby. I am soo excited to see him care for little Caleb. The breastfeeding class will be so informative, and I think it will help put me at ease, since I have no idea how to go about breastfeeding. After class that night we were surprised by one of our good friends who recentely moved to New Jersey. He was in town!!! We immediately went to a local bar and grill to see him, and 8 month pregnant me sat at the bar drinking water, and hanging out haha.

Yesterday we recieved our cord blood banking kit from via cord. Nick and I had talked about whether or not we wanted to bank Caleb's cord blood throughout the entire pregnancy. However, we both just could not turn it down. Though we have no family history of blood diseases, or various cancers we still wanted to bank his cord blood just in case. It makes me feel so much better to know that if God forbid something were to happen to our baby boy that we would have his cord blood banked, and it could result in helping save his life.

This weekend is still up in the air as to what all we are going to do. Normally we would go camping and to a lake on the fourth (pictures included from last years camping/lake trip), but since I am 8 months pregnant this year I do not want to camp. I would be fine cruising on a lake as long as the boat was going very very slow. However, we just have not decided for sure what we are going to do yet. I know we are going out the eat tonight with another preggo and her hubby, and then possibly to a fourth of July festival. However, tomorrow we have not decided as of yet. Whatever we decide to do I know it will be fun. I just hope it warms up, and the rain holds off. I am ready for some more pretty pool days. This weeks weather has made me sad. Happy fourth of July everyone I hope your holiday is wonderful.

How to??

I have a quick question that is frustrating pregnant me because I can not figure it out on my own. I want to add a gadget to my blog that I have seen on almost every blog except for mine. I want to be able to add a picture of me that says like "The Mommy" of Nick that says "The Daddy" etc etc. How do I do that???

I Feel A Little More Prepared

Today is the day. No the nursery is not yet completed, and I am not going into labor. However, I am the proud owner of our first pack of diapers. YAY. It is definetely about time that Nick and I boarded the diaper buying train and began preparing for the not so pleasant parts of parenting. Tonight we headed to Kroger to rent a movie from red box, and in turn ended up walking out with our first pack of diapers. Since the magazines only recommend you buy two-three packs of newborn diapers, and I figured most people would buy us larger sizes, we bought a pack of Pampers Swaddle Me Newborn diapers. I love how they smell like baby. Now, I feel a little more prepared if little Caleb were to make his arrival early. At least we would have one pack of diapers to cover his little bottom.

In other news I thought I would include a picture of Bella sleeping like a pregnant lady. I sleep cuddled up to a pillow every night in this same position. Maybe she is trying to be like her momma :).
