Mckinlee 19 Months

So, Mckinlee turned 19 months on the 6th, and once again I am crazy behind on typing up her post.  This month it was mainly due to lack of pictures to add, and not enough time to have a mini photo sesh.  Today, while Caleb was at school I rushed and took some pictures of her, but I got very few. Toddlers are so hard to photograph.

Mckinlee at 19 Months:

Eating: Picky Picky Picky...that is you right now.  You basically do not eat anything we put on your plate.  You love junk food, grilled cheese, peanut butter, and most fruits.  You are obsessed with ice right now, and we have to put new ice cubes in your cup at least 3 times during dinner to keep you happy.  You are finally starting to tolerate cows milk.  You are drinking one sippy of 1% a day, and I am going to start introducing 2% this week....we are slowly working up to whole milk.

Sleeping: You still sleep like a champ.  Nap from 1-3/3:30 and bed from 8/8:30-8/8:30.

Size: You weigh 20lbs now!!!! Its a miracle.  You are wearing size 18 months for fall due to length, but your smaller shirts still fit you.  You are in a size 3/4 shoe. Size 2 diaper.

Teeth: Still have 12 teeth.

Speech: You vocabulary is growing every day.  You have really started putting 2 words together consistently recently.

Exciting New Things:

  • You count 2, 3 go!
  • You always say cheese and smile big for my phone camera.
  • You have still been trying to go on the potty.  Last night you went in, sat down and peed all on your own.
  • You are still sleeping in a sleep sack.
  • You always lay your baby doll on a blanket, put your finger to your mouth and say "shh"
  • If someone tells you that you look pretty you will point to your feet and say "shoes" and your head and say "bow".
  • You run to daddy and jump in his arms when he gets home from work now.
  • You love to wipe with toilet paper when you are trying to go potty.
  • You still call your binky "Ellie", and are quite obsessed.
  • You still have a pesky rash around your mouth.  Your skin issues are out of control.
  • You love to pick your own outfits out.
  • You can identify a dog, and a duck right now, but you refuse to say any other animal names.
  • You know your head, your belly, your nose, your feet, your hands, your ears....I think you probably know all your body parts but you will not point to them when we ask.
You are such a sweet little tink tink and I love you more than life.

Zoo Day

The kids and I went to the zoo today to take in this amazing weather.  This was my first completely solo trip with all three kids, and it was so much fun.  They were so well behaved, and were smiling the entire time.  The only downfall was me forgetting their lunches at home and having to dish out 18 dollars for 2 kids meals!

We saw basically all the zoo had to offer today.  The biggest hit of the day was the children s zoo.  They were able to pet and feed goats, and play on a play set.  Caleb was not to excited about touching the goats, but the play set made him happy. He said "mom their really is a park at the zoo!".  He is adorable.  We finished off the day with a train ride, and they all three loved it.

Caleb's First Day of Preschool

The preschool year began yesterday, and Caleb attended his very first day of Preschool.  He ended up loving it, and had a wonderful time. I shed a few more tears than he did, and he looked so grown up to me!

Yesterday morning after breakfast I told Caleb that we needed to take some special pictures for Preschool with the sign mama made.  He surprisingly went along with this.  That was so unexpected because he hates having his picture taken.  He posed, and participated without complaint for every picture.  Unfortunately my good camera was being skitzo so I only have phone camera shots, but I still captured those first day of school memories.

Pinterest gave me the idea to include what he wants to be when he grows up.  Since every member of his family is in some form of construction he knows no different.  My dad informed me that he needs to be a doctor or a lawyer :).

Caleb rode in daddy's big truck to school, and Kinlee and I followed in the van.  When we arrived, I had to start fighting back the tears.  He looked so big walking in with his back pack and lunch box.  He placed his back pack where it belonged, put his lunch box in his cubby, gave the teachers their gifts, and then washed his hands.  My tears started then, and he cried as well  for about 2 minutes. Nick and I stood outside in the breezeway until we did not hear him crying anymore and then we left.

This is how we left him :(.

Kinlee and I were able to spend some one on one time together while Caleb was at school. That never happens.  We also got to have lunch with daddy.  Can I just say how easy just having one kid to take care of is?  I swear I could have gotten all my errands for the next 6 months done in 3 hours.

When we picked Caleb up he was so calm and grown up.  He waited in a a line until the teacher told him he could go to me, and then he walked and put his paper in his back pack, placed it on his back and we left.  Kinlee was super excited to see him.

Some cute things he said about school that I want to remember. No one else will care about these I assure you.

"I only cried for 2 minutes"

"I rode a BIG red bike in the gym"

"I loved playing with the boys"

"Caleb did you get a new girlfriend at school?" ME
"No, I'll stick with Pres" Him

He folded his hands in the praying position and said
"We did this at school to thank God"

"Mom Mom God made Bella just for me!"

"I didn't eat my applesauce, but that's okay because I ate my strawberries"

"Jonas is on vacation with his mommy and daddy and he will be back soon"
